Custom cost equations.
Relex Life Cycle Cost includes a full
equation editor. Equations can range from simple to complex
based on your system design. The built-in equation editing
allows you to create cost equations using common math
functions, as well as time and date based functions. Your
custom equation is viewable on-screen using colour coding for
readability and can quickly be verified before full
calculations are performed. |
Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis provides methodology for computing
the cost of your product over its lifetime. You may include many
different types of costs such as design, production, warranty,
repair, and disposal. By factoring in frequently overlooked items,
such as cost of part failures and repairs, life cycle cost tools
endeavour to provide a picture of true cost over the life of your
product. Relex ® Life Cycle Cost is a full life cycle cost analysis
package which supports parametric, analogy, bottom-up, and direct
cost analysis types. Calculated cost information includes total
lifetime cost and can also include sensitivity calculations and Net
Present Value (NPV) computations.
Complete customisation. Using Relex Life Cycle Cost's Cost Breakdown
Structure (CBS), you may take any cost into account in your
analysis. You can use the built-in equation editor to assign
calculation properties to elements in your CBS tree. Relex Life
Cycle Cost is supplied with pre-built cost breakdown structure
templates based on industry standards. You can choose to start with
one of these and modify it to fit your needs, or you can create a
completely unique cost breakdown structure based on your needs.
Calculate lifetime cost. Relex Life Cycle Cost computes overall
system cost as well as line item costs using your custom defined
cost equations and variables. Relex Life Cycle Cost can also perform
sensitivity and Net Present Value analyses by factoring in parameter
variability and inflation rates. By allowing for alternative-based
cost variables, Relex Life Cycle Cost allows you to compare system
alternatives based on true cost metrics.
 |
|
Cost metrics. Relex Life Cycle Cost results are numerous and
support both sensitivity and Net Present Value (NPV)
computations. Using built-in Relex Architect graphical
features, you can generate graphs of your LCC results.
Additionally, Relex LCC results can be viewed using supplied
report formats, or you may create your own customised report. |
The Relex Architect platform. Relex Life Cycle Cost includes all the
advanced features of Relex Architect's robust, proven framework. A
rich user interface is coupled with innovative features such as the
invaluable Project Navigator for centralised Project control, the
Relex Bar for customised one-click operations, the Task List for
quick access to commonly used tasks, and data filtering for ultimate
user control of data views. Comprehensive reporting capabilities
include easy-to-use Report and Graph Wizards for complete user
customisation of output reports and graphs. Relex's Import/Export
Wizard enables you to transfer your Project data to and from Relex
in a variety of popular formats, including Microsoft Excel ® and
Access ®. Additionally, Relex Architect modules are built on a
common database, for optimal product integration and data sharing
capabilities.
Built for the enterprise.
Relex's Enterprise Edition supports the
high performance, scalable needs of large user bases. Features such
as support for Microsoft SQL Server ® and Oracle ® databases,
permission based security, user and group roles, front end web
interfaces, Relex Dashboard for a high-level overview of system
metrics, audit trails for tracking data modifications, and
customisable data connectors insure that Relex meets the needs of
full scale, enterprise-wide teams.
Total cost analysis.
Relex Life Cycle Cost relies on a set of
customisable variables which are used in your defined equations to
compute overall cost. Designed around a flexible format, Relex Life
Cycle Cost allows for total flexibility in variables and cost
equation definition. You can define your variables as constants, or
you can define variables as changing over time, over design
alternatives, or over both. Life cycle cost variables can also be
linked to data from your other Relex Architect modules for expanded
analysis capabilities. For example, you can factor in failure and
repair rates from Relex Reliability Prediction and Relex RBD
(Reliability Block Diagram) to obtain more accurate accounting of
system failure and repair costs in total product lifetime cost.
